What we are preparing for 2021

The year 2021 is in full swing and it is time to remind all the important information, dates and contexts that the organizers of the World Orienteering Championships 2021 are preparing.

The Euromeeting which has been postponed twice should take place on March 12-14, 2021, with the following program:
● Friday, March 12 – sprint Železný Brod
● Saturday, March 13 – middle Ždírec
● Sunday, March 14 – long Ždírec
Both weekend races take place in sandstone terrains relevant to the World Championships and the long distance. It is possible to connect with a training camp (contact trainings@woc2021.cz). The event center is located in the Bezděz hotel (as well as the World Championships). More information will be published at the turn of January and February.

Selection races
We are preparing two races for all national teams interested
● Saturday, June 5 – middle (Tanvald)
● Sunday, June 6 – long (Srbská Kamenice)
Both races will be set on relevant maps for MS 21 (same cartographers), the courses will be set by course setters of the same disciplines as on WOC 2021.
The selection races schedule including entries will be published at the end of March.

Trainings or a training camp can be arranged at any time. You can find more here: https://woc2021.cz/competitors/training/.

Other events
Due to a pandemic the competition calendar may change. We currently recommend using the Prague Easter (sandstones) competitions on April 2 – 4, 2021.

World Championships
The culmination of the whole year will take place on July 3 – 9, 2021 according to the set program when the WOC 2021 is planned. For this Championships the organizers have a government guarantee that despite the possible continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic it is possible to organize the event.

Unfortunately COVID-19 is still among us so we are updating this page as frequently as possible:
https://woc2021.cz/covid-19/ with information for competitors. Please keep your eye on it.
